Social Studies

Social Studies curriculum topics vary depending on the grade level. The grade eight course is built around three major topics; The Geography of Canada and United States, Canadian History to the 20th Century, and Brazil. Grade seven students deal with the topics of Culture, Multiculturalism and Japan. In both courses, students are engaged in subject matter by dealing with key issues related to the topic. The Provincial minimum requirement for Social Studies instruction is 100 hours over the course of one school year. At Alexandra, students will receive over 150 hours of instruction in Social Studies.

  • one - 3 ringed loose leaf binder
  • 3 ringed lined paper 3 ringed graph paper (1 cm x 1 cm)
  • 3 ringed blank paper
