Core courses are the mandatory courses, as identified by Alberta Education that all students must take during grades 7 and 8. These include: Health, Language Arts, Mathematics, Physical Education, Science and Social Studies.
In addition to the core classes students are required each year to complete a selection of a minimum of 3 complementary courses listed in the table below. Please note that all students at Alexandra take all four CTS courses each year that they attend our school.
Alberta Education provides parents with on-line Curriculum Guides for all grades and subjects.
Students and parent can monitor the progress made through the school year via Powerschool, a software application, that was developed to allow students and their parents/guardians internet access to student information through the school's student records system. You will be able to see information on attendance, fees, report card grades, historical grades, and graduation requirements (for Grade 12 students). You may apply on-line to access Powerschool or, if your are experiencing difficulty with the on-line process, contact the school and ask that we provide you with the login and password information.
